Relationships are formed quite often. Sometimes as often as every day. We strive to maintain some of them and let some just slip. But I have found that it is very difficult to renew a relationship that has been dormant for years ( in my case 25). After the usual talk of catching up on "what are you doing now?what are the kids doing?where do you stay now?Do you remember......? (of course I don't)" and "Oh!! that's nice", there seems to be very little to say. It is almost impossible to get back the same level of friendship, love that you once shared. The very exercise of trying to renew the relationship seems futile.I spend the rest of the day trying to remember the "do you remember...?" people, and of course I draw a blank. And then there was the heaviness in my mind of remembering what had caused the rift in the first place.
So I think it must be best to let sleeping relationship lie and die.
